Episode 8: Welcome to Our Lives

Welcome to AniOne Episode 8. Purdue, it’s becoming a second home for us here, this spacious 10 by 10 dorm room is like our own little nerd hovel. This week we’ll give our review of Welcome To The NHK. Well, Matt won’t. That’s because he’s a slacker and didn’t watch any anime this week. There’s something about papers and school work, but we really see where his priorities are. As well as the review, the guys open up about Bandage cafe’s and what makes bandages so awesome. We also talk a little bit about the Fall season Lineup. It’s really more of a ramble, but an entertaining one at least.
-Tyler Talks about Birthdays, not excited
-Matt Didn’t watch Anime this week
-Review NHK
-Cafes, Cat Cafe’s and Bandage Cafe’s?
-Seaseon 2 ramble…well, just a ramble

Episode 9: Summer is Over

Claymore, worst ending ever, or punishment from God? A shockingly non-violent finalé makes us wonder, what was worth watching in summer of ‘07 anyway? Potemayo, says Ian. Is it the simplistic kids show it first appears to be, or a stunning critique of the current over-moé saturated market? We wrap up the show by talking about our expectations for the fall season.

Episode 7:Crazy Stuff Goin’ Down!

We’re at Purdue again this week, and it’s starting to become like home to the crew. This week we’ll catch up on some series review in past episodes. We’ve got two new reviews for you as well, Elfen Lied and Ergo Proxy. Two shows, two horns, 12 vectors, and a girl that looks like the singer from Evanescence…but a little bit hotter. Sounds weird, well, it really is. But it’s sooo worth it. And Tyler would like to apologize, he knows now that her name is “Real” not “Lil.”

Episode 6:Those Mecha are Loli?

This week’s episode is coming to you from the Matt’s spacious dorm room at Purdue. In fact it’s a very sensitive subject for him, as Tyler finds out. Last week there were girls with swords, this week it’s girls with guns. Will we all agree that it’s just as awesome? Along with anime, this week we talk about video games. Bioshock in particular, and why it’s so awesome. Well, Ian doesn’t think so…but Matt and Tyler do their best to persuade him otherwise. And as a heads up, Episode 10 is going to be our Neon Genesis Evangelion Special, be prepared…because you know that Matt is.

Episode 5: Kyon is so Gar

The episode we’ve all been afraid of has finally come around, it’s our Haruhi Special! If you have not seen the series, and do not wish it to be ruined for you, do not listen to this episode. Spoilers are abound, but you should definitely watch the series and come back to this weeks episode. I’d like to say that we delves into the deeper aspects of Haruhi, but it really is an hour long gushing about Yuki Nagato. Srsly though, we talk about our favourite Haruhi Moments, what is series trying to say, and Ian has the dish on Season 2. Mikuru Beam!!

Episode 4: What the hell is a Raki?

We talk a lot about anime we love on the show, but this week is a little different. Tyler has to vent about Naruto and Bleach while Matt and Ian sit uncomfortably. We also bring out a new segment, we’re calling it “We watched it so you don’t have to.” The anime world is vast, and not all of it is worth watching…so we’re warning you about one of those series. Last but not least we’ll review Claymore. An anime about girls with swords…almost impossible to mess up.

    Episode 3: We are Ani-One

We finally have an official name. This week Matt and Ian go to Canada, and Tyler tells then what they must do once there. It has something to do with Poutine and butt cheeks. We also find out of Zombies+Anime=Awesome in this weeks review of Zombie Loan. It almost sounds so good we wonder why it hasn’t happened before. Heard of Dynasty warriors Gundam? Don’t worry, neither have Ian or Matt. And to top off the show we debate about the merit of fansubs vs. dubbing, it turns out to be the most wasted 15 minutes of our lives. All that and More in this weeks episode of Ani-One!

Episode 2: Magical Girls and Demon…Boys

Tyler starts off the show this week with a confession to the world. Ian’s like “What?!” Matt’s like “Hmmmm.” And then it gets awkward. But the guys will tell us what they though of Devil May Cry and Nanatsuiro Drops. Ones about a guy killing demons, and the other about a girl collecting stardrops and rainbows. This weeks reviews are interesting, to say the least.

    Episode 1: Hello kitty Kimono

Hello and welcome to the first episode of Ani-One, well…as of the recording we weren’t officially Ani-One. Never watched Anime before? No problem, because this week’s episode is for all the new comers. We have 3 series that are great starter anime for people wanting to break in to Anime. We also ramble a bit about our fond memories of the conventions of old. And if you want to know whose fault it is, Tyler blames Pokémon.

    Great starter Anime:

    1. Cowboy Bebop
    2. Samurai Champloo
    3. Haibane Renmei
